Michael Sabo accounted for five touchdowns to lead the SAINTS to an overwhelming 33-7 victory against the BEARS. Specifically, the two-time Youth League champion threw three TD passes, rushed for another score, and returned an interception for the game’s final touchdown. While Sabo has enjoyed plenty of success during his career with the PFFL, the young man has never played for a head coach of Dennis “Shor D” Wolford’s pedigree.

Shor D specializes in teaching his quarterbacks several plays that are designed to pick up big yardage in key situations. On one play in particular Sabo pump faked to one of his teammates to free up fellow champion Grant “Head & Shoulders” Ganot. Once the BEARS’ secondary bit on the fake Sabo hit Ganot in stride for an impressive touchdown conversion.

Speaking of Ganot, he made several jaw-dropping plays throughout the course of the game that really seemed to demoralize the BEARS. For example in the second half, after Ganot had just thrown a pick to BEARS’ Defensive Back Malik Marmon, Ganot responded by catching an interception of his own from BEARS’ Quarterback John Lindgren on the very next play. Then on the next BEARS possession, Head & Shoulders picked off Lindgren again and returned the INT for a touchdown. Following the two turnovers, the game proved to be too insurmountable for the BEARS to overcome.

Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not highlight the contributions of TaMaya “Cruise Control” Wolford and Brooklyn Jones. Each young lady scored a TD to ensure that the final score would favor the SAINTS. As for the BEARS, their lone highlight came when Lindgren threw a strike to Josiah Vaughn in the end zone on the first drive of the game.
