“running down the whole field is not as easy as a pass play.”

Despite missing several key players, the EAGLES rose to the occasion in a 28-24 victory over the BUCCANEERS. Coach Branden Ballard had to get the most out of his roster given the absences of Ava “Playmaker” Deringor and Maggie “The Prosecution” Loya.

While there were several strong performers for the winning team, rookie Youth League player Remmie Greenwald A.K.A. “Satellite Remmie” stole the show. In total, the young lady scored three receiving touchdowns. Additionally, she threw a touchdown to teammate Madden Barone. Remmie’s sure hands and yards after catch provided Barone with a reliable number one target.

“I’m basically better on pass plays which I basically got all my touchdowns,” Greenwald explained.

Although she has clearly established herself as the EAGLES’ feature receiver, Remmie recognizes that “running down the whole field is not as easy as a pass play.” When I asked Coach Ballard about his star player’s primary role as a wide receiver, he said that “Remmie does not need to run because we have the ‘Angels’ [Deringor, Loya, and Amelia “Thriller” Whitacre] to do that.”

Speaking of Whitacre, the seasoned vet added a touchdown of her own to compliment Remmie’s receiving prowess. Also, rookie Running Back Khalil Massey made his presence felt with a rushing TD of his own.

“I did my move spinning and I keep on running,” Massey explained about his scoring play.

As for the BUCS, Rayven Russ and Jospeh Kitchen scored multiple TDs for their team’s offense.
