Every athlete and team, from a little league player to the Pittsburgh Steelers, have pre-game rituals. Here is a quick run-down of some of the best we found. 

  • As the Virginia Tech Football Team takes the field for every home game, players reach up and touch the famous Hokie Stone.
  • LeBron James’ chalk-tossing ritual has become as famous as he is.
  • Former Mets and Cubs pitcher Turk Wendell was known for waving to his center fielder and waiting for him to have back before throwing the first pitch.
  • Notre Dame’s Victory March is a famous pregame tradition. Taping the “Play Like A Champion Today” sign as they leave the locker room is another famous pregame ritual made famous by The Irish.
