Increasing your speed through routine drills will improve your performance on the field. Being able to get moving quickly and beat the other team down the field will be valuable assets.

Staying sharp and in shape during the off season is crucial to your teams’ success during the upcoming PFFL season. Staying active any way you can will help keep your stamina and endurance up for the flag football season. If your team has drills they run, keep running those drills all year round to stay fit and at the top of your football game.

Quarterbacks are a key position on the roster. If you play quarterback for your team, practice scramble drills, handoff drills, and drop drills to improve your versatility on the field.

Receivers also need to continue to build their skills in the off season. In addition to traditional catching drills, work on deep ball drills, one handed catch drills and sideline catch drills. You’re rarely going to get a clean pass with no defenders around, so practicing making catches in tight spots is crucial.

A unique part of the PFFL is that most players end up playing defense. With that in mind, regardless of your position, you should always throw a few defensive drills into your routine. Practice read drills to react quickly to the movement of the offensive player you’re covering.

All PFFL players should also practice speed and agility drills. Drilling foot placement to improve agility will make you a more valuable player to your team. Increasing your speed through routine drills will improve your performance on the field. Being able to get moving quickly and beat the other team down the field will be valuable assets.
