#45 Anthony “D-bo” Miller (Unsung Hero)

In a league chock-full of offensive superstars like Mike Lucyk and Darius Prince, productive defensive players often go unnoticed. Moreover, when the PFFL finally does spotlight the defense, rushers tend to steal the show. That’s why I’m honored to introduce you to Defensive Back Anthony “D-bo” Miller A.K.A. “Tone” as the 45th player in league history!

Since first jumping on the scene with the TITANS (not to be confused with the team that he played for in 2012), Tone has solidified himself as one of the premier cover corners the league has ever seen.

Following his first season, Tone has made earned All-Star honors a couple times. In 85 games (including the playoffs), Miller has collected 225 tackles and 19 interceptions. During the Spring 2011 season the corner shined as a wide receiver after catching 18 receptions and four touchdowns.

Those impressive statistics aside, the play of this talented DB continue to get overlooked by the PFFL media. Perhaps it’s the fact that Tone comes off as the strong, silent type. Or maybe, it’s the reality that his interception numbers don’t always rank among the top performers in the league. While these nuances about Tone’s game might be somewhat valid, one must also consider the low number of opportunities that the DB receives as a direct result of his reputation as a shutdown corner.

Both TITAN teams, DEFIANT, and THE U all owe Mr. Miller a great deal of gratitude because he has brought physicality and veteran savvy to all of their defensive backfields.
