Would you choose James Harrison?

Pittsburgh Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin coached the black and gold to 60 wins so far in his time with the team, including two AFC Championships and a victory in Super Bowl XLIII. Anyone who knows football will tell you coaching is critical to success. The Steelers practice facility is just down the road from George Cupples Stadium and we want to know if you could walk down to the sports complex and recruit one of the Steelers’ players to coach your team, who would you choose?

Maybe you would pick Ben Roethlisberger? The 30 year old is known for being one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the NFL and had led the team to two Super Bowl wins. Ben knows what it is like to be a young player enjoying success and would certainly connect with the PFFL youth. In fact, in 2005 he became the youngest starting quarterback to win a Super Bowl at just 23. Would you want Roethlisberger, the Pittsburgh super star, coaching your team?

Or would you choose James Harrison? The 242 lb linebacker was a Pro Bowl starter for four consecutive seasons and was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. He knows what it takes to build strong individual players and would help the young PFFL athletes grow. As co-captain of special teams, Harrison has proved himself as a strong leader but would he be your first pick as head coach?

Would you rather have Brett Keisel to coach your team? The crowd favorite is known for being friendly and easy to talk to off the field. On the field, he has 116 pro wins under his belt and played in the 2010 Pro Bowl. Is Keisel’s combination of kindness and killer talent what you would want in a head coach?

Maybe you want Charlie Batch. The backup quarterback has faced his share of injuries and setbacks since signing with the Steelers in 2002. A native Pittsburgher, he has stepped up for the team and city and done an outstanding job of filling in when called upon. He has thrown 10,610 yards but does he bring to the table what you look for in a coach?

What about Antonio Brown? The wide receiver has packed a lot of success into a short pro career. He is known among his teammates and Twitter followers for his positive outlook. Is his upbeat attitude and raw rookie talent enough to earn your vote for PFFL head coach?

Maybe you’d choose someone different to coach your team. We want to know who you would pick and why! Let us know in the comments!
