One of the premier players for the Youth League is none other than Joshua “Super Cleats” DiMatteo. His dynamic abilities on offense have drawn increased attention from opposing coaches. Lost in the hype of Super Cleats is the emergence of the CARDINALS’ Daeshon Butler. His three touchdowns led the CARDS to a 20-18 victory over the STEELERS.

One of the unwritten rules in the PFFL is that players earn nicknames based on their weekly performances. That’s why I am proud to announce the arrival of Daeshon “Houdini” Butler. If you’ve been watching the CARDS all season, you’d know that Butler scores many touchdowns on fake-handoff plays that involve movement from Super Cleats. In this matchup, Houdini deceived the STEELER defense three times and teleported to the end zone. Ok…he didn’t teleport; however, he was a magician whenever the ball was in his hands.

While the CARDINALS achieved a victory, this game was a dogfight from start to finish. STEELERS’ Defensive Back Clinton Foster struck first by returning an interception for the game’s first touchdown. Later on, Jake “Kozak” Kozarian caught a pick six interception to keep pace with the CARDS. Finally, Marquice Scott showed his quarterbacking skills with a nice TD completion to teammate Louie Cipolla.

Although the STEELERS dug themselves out of a 20-6 hole, they were unable to complete the comeback. On their last possession, the black and yellow fellows committed a false start penalty that wounded their chances of getting a first down. At 2-4 the STEELERS enter the postseason with many question marks.
