In the season opener, the STEELERS avenged their Summer 2011 loss to the RAVENS with a 13-0 victory. At the time the RAVENS looked dazed and confused against their archrivals. Despite the outcome of their last matchup, the RAVENS led by Khalil “Lito” Weathers beat the STEELERS 13-7.

One of the main reasons the RAVENS struggled in their previous game against the STEELERS was the absence of the multidimensional Lito. In this contest the young signal-caller threw two touchdown passes and caught four interceptions.

Another star performer for the RAVENS was sure-handed wide receiver Saxon “Sax” Bailey. He caught two touchdowns from Lito. On Bailey’s first score the young wideout hauled in a nice five-yard completion from Lito to take an early 7-0 lead. Later in the game, Sax caught another red zone touchdown for the RAVENS.

While Lito and Sax provided the RAVENS’ scoring punch, Terrell Chatman did the little things to help the birds get the win. Primarily, Chatman caught two interceptions STEELERS’ QB Louis Cipolla. In addition, Chatman completed two nice passes that placed the RAVENS in scoring position.

Unfortunately Cipolla struggled to complete passes against the stingy RAVEN defense. Aside from his two interceptions, Cipolla threw a touchdown pass to Marquice Scott. Jake “Kozak” Kozarian caught the extra point to tie the score at 7-7.

STEELERS’ Coach Sean Farr tried to insert different players into the quarterback position but he couldn’t outsmart the defensive strategy of RAVENS’ Coach and PFFL All-Star Dennis “Shor D” Wolford. As a result, Scott threw two interceptions and Kozak threw one.

Although the RAVENS finished with a 2-4 record, their performance against the STEELERS is a cause for optimism.
