Youth flag football is the most fun a child can have while playing a non contact sport. Played in many different formats and with many governing bodies (USA Football, Under Armour Flag Football etc) NFL Flag has widely been recognized as a leader in the space. One key comprehensive aspect of NFL Flag is that it is non contact and historically that has been a major attractive component for first time players. Although many reasons are out there to play youth flag football, the ones that stick out the most are the same day practice/games, enjoying fun competition and having an opportunity to play regardless of experience.
Every youth sports organization is different in terms of structure, and over the past few weeks, the number one reason heard from parents the same day practice/games.
One parent of an 11 year old son was quoted as saying “The setup allows my son to get a “taste” of football while not be so much of a time commitment.”
Secondly because the youth league teams are all created based on a Draft System, the teams in the Pittsburgh Flag Football League tend to be more balanced. This aspect is huge because it attempts to create a level of competition that has more parody.
By design, flag football was created as a recreational sport for people of all ages and skill to enjoy. In no way does flag football replace tackle, but for those young players looking to be part of America's most popular sport, it is the perfect fit for an awesome experience.
