We understand that friendship is extremely important to kids between the ages of seven and fourteen

Each season the PFFL Youth League strives to reorganize the rosters from previous seasons to increase the level of talent among all teams. Primarily, our goal is to give each team a fighting chance at competing for a championship.

In an effort to establish parity among the teams we hold a private draft for our coaches so that they can assemble rosters that best fit their coaching styles. For example, Coach Jason Russell loves to have as many speedy players as possible so that he can implement quick screens and double playoffs in his game plan.

Although we are always seeking to create a level playing field for all Youth League participants, we understand that friendship is extremely important to kids between the ages of seven and 14. For this reason, we allow players to be drafted to the same team as their best friends to help kids transition into our game.

Since the Youth League’s inception back in the summer 2011, we have separated youth competitors into the three divisions: Lower (ages 7-9), Middle (ages 10-12), and Upper (ages 13-15). In addition to making sure that each team has a significant presence of talent on their rosters, we use our divisions to ensure that players of similar maturity and physical ability are competing against one another.

This past summer season was the first time that the Youth League created teams filled with players from all three age brackets. Although some teams were overmatched due to an overall shortage of players, the final results were encouraging. In several cases, the younger players stepped their games up to the levels of their teenage teammates while the older players developed leadership skills while mentoring the younger players.

If you would like to help us increase the level of competition for your sons and daughters then please encourage your friends, family members, and co-workers to fill out the form to the right and someone from the league will contact them directly.
