After a hard-fought season that resulted in the CHIEFS and TITANS finishing with the number one and number two seeds heading into the playoffs, respectively, the TITANS took care of business in the championship game. They beat the CHIEFS 20-6.

On the Youth League’s biggest stage, players mature into superstars. That’s exactly what happened to the TITANS’ Wide Receiver Tayshaun “T-Mac” McMIllan. The versatile player rushed for two touchdowns and threw another score to Cole Starrett.

“He has a lot of speed,” Starrett said about McMillan.

Even an anonymous parent of a CHIEFS’ player even acknowledged that T-Mac is on a different level in comparison to the rest of the players in the Lower Division. The young man’s acceleration and ability to make defenders miss in space created a mismatch for the CHIEFS.

Another player that excelled for the TITANS was veteran WR Madden Barone. Over the years Barone has emerged as one of the Youth League’s most effective two-way players. Offensively, the young man caught several key passes including one for an extra point. On defense, Barone was a flag-pulling machine.

Following their gutsy 12-6 win against the COLTS in the second round of the playoff tournament, the CHIEFS seemed to be overwhelmed against the TITANS’ playmakers. The lone highlight for the top-seeded CHIEFS came on a spectacular play by Defensive Back Joseph Kitchen. Kitch made a great break on an errant throw by the TITANS’ QB, caught an interception and scored a touchdown on the same play.

Although much of the game was lopsided in favor of the TITANS, the CHIEFS deserved credit for persevering through their miscues to avoid being shut out.

CONGRATULATIONS TITANS!
