Interview with the BENGALS

In Week 1 the BENGALS looked severely overmatched against “Dakota Conduct” and the VIKINGS in a game that wasn’t even as close as the finally score might have indicated. Specifically, the players had trouble converting third downs, pulling flags, and rushing the passer. At the time many fans were wondering if the BENGALS would ever develop enough cohesion to turn themselves into contenders.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A WEEK MAKES!

Instead of losing confidence in his own skills and in those of his teammates, Caleb “JAWS” Jaworski carried his team to a much-needed 34-6 victory over the EAGLES. JAWS stole the show after scoring five touchdowns for his team. As a receiver Jaworski got into a nice groove with his quarterback Evan “Tom Brady” De Witt. Pretty much all of their touchdown connections looked like a dad playing “pitch-and-catch” with his son.
Joshua Fuller, Nitzan Aaron, and Jayden Armant also caught several passes that went for first downs to keep the chains moving for the BENGALS. Collectively, the “Cool Cats” (because of how often they make plays under the radar) give De Witt the most electrifying receiving corps in the Upper Division.

On the defensive side, JAWS executed one of the most sensational plays that you will ever see in Youth League competition. As EAGLES QB Isaac Staresinic dropped back to pass, JAWS jumped in the air, batted down Staresinic’s attempt and instinctively caught the ball. A couple of juke moves later and the young player was in the end zone.
Speaking of Staresinic, a championship player, the young man struggled with his accuracy all game. No matter whom the rusher was Staresinic had difficulty completing passes. Nikyla Wolford grabbed several sacks to make life miserable for the young signal-caller.

Fortunately for the EAGLES Khalil “Munchie” Schaeffer took matters into his own hands offensively to put some points on the board for his team. On a handoff Munchie shook the first defender out of his cleats and then beat the rest of the EAGLES to the end zone.
