5. BULLDOGS: The league’s original swag team is the pioneer for the modern-day PFFL jersey. Back in 2009 Eugene Smith, Zack Gorny and company debuted their signature black jerseys with red trim and letters. The uniforms forced the other teams in our league to step their dress game up. The BULLDOGS might not ever live up to the hype of being a perennial winner but they’ll always look the part.
4. STALLIONS: This offseason the STALLIONS are trying to figure how to get their offense to perform at the same level as their stellar defense. While the squad might struggle to score points, the STALLIONS’ bright bumble bee jerseys make them fun to watch. While their yellow jerseys are amazing, switching to black jerseys might give Jason Orsini and the offense a much-needed psychological edge. After all you see how well black works for the Steelers and Ravens.
3. UPDAWG: UPDAWG looks like a team on the rise mostly because of their well-rounded roster. However, I believe that their neon jerseys, socks, and cleats work to their advantage. Their bright shirts help Steve Menosky to locate his receivers in a sea of defenders. Meanwhile Carter must look like a speeding car with shiny headlights as he bears down on opposing quarterbacks. So in other words wear shades when you play against UPDAWG.
2. SHARKS: The SHARKS suffered a disappointing debut season last fall; however watching them rock their jerseys inspired by the classic “Any Given Sunday” film was a treat. One of the best aspects of their uniforms is the simplicity of white letters on top of black jerseys. The magic lies in the perfectly replicated font that “Steamin” Willie Beamen made famous in the movie.
1. VAPOR: Was their really any doubt about my top pick for best PFFL jersey? Led by All-Star Quarterback Cornell “C-Mack” Mack, the team known for its braggadocious playing style is very recognizable in their fire-red jerseys. The red-black-white color scheme is a clean look for the perennial championship contenders. Similar to the BULLDOGS, VAPOR might come up short in the playoffs but they sure are a sight to see.
