Last season ended with REIGN hoisting the FALL 2011 Championship trophy. While the rest of league suffered crushing defeats in the postseason, several teams should acknowledge the silver lining that accompanied their losses. Ladies and gentlemen it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to the 2012 CREEPERS!!!!
First up is the team that finished second behind STEELTOWN in IRON WEST Division. Put your hands together for the ESKIMO BROS. Led by Kevin “The Laser” Haser and perennial All-Star Frank Swick, the BROS. amassed a 7-3 regular season record. The team’s signature 8-7 win came in an impressive defensive effort against the STALLIONS. If I were STEELTOWN I might be worried because the ESKIMO BROS. are not to be overlooked.
Next in the lineup of CREEPERS are the villains from Space Jam better known as the MONSTARS. Dual-threat Quarterback and All-Star Luke McCann are the focal points of the MONSTARS. After predicting that the squad would lose to the WRECKING CREW in the second round of the playoffs, the MONSTARS proved me wrong. They blew the CREW out 30-13. While the new and improved CREW will be a challenge for the MONSTARS, I’m confident that the players in purple will win their division next season.
SABOTAGE is one of those teams that is just a player away from being a contender. Underrated Quarterback Adam Zyski and Wide Receiver Josh Linton were top performers for SABOTAGE week in and week out. The IRON division is weak and SABOTAGE will compete for one of the top two seeds in the IRON Conference.
Now on to a team that I got to know better via Quarterback Kevin Rombach. The SCLSU MUD DOGS surprised everyone with by compiling a 7-3 record. First-time All-Star William Poletti proved to be a reliable wide receiver threat. Lastly, the MUD DOGS are special because they win while rocking the ugliest jerseys in PFFL history. In summary, don’t sleep on the team that Bobby Boucher built.
Finally UPDAWG always seems to be creeping around greatness. Not only did the perennial underdogs win their division, they registered a convincing 19-6 victory over STEELTOWN!! One of these days UPDAWG led by new single-season sacks leader and All-Star Brandon Carter, will make a significant run to a championship!
As the PFFL’s hardest-working journalist I’ve covered REIGN, STEELTOWN, VAPOR, and the VULTUREZ to the max. That’s why I encourage all of you to pay attention to my weekly updates about the CREEPERS!
